You can use your Gmail or Google Workspace account to send registration emails directly from Monster Leaderboards. This ensures your emails come from your own address and benefit from Google’s high deliverability.

Google does not allow apps like Monster Leaderboards to use your normal account password for sending emails.

Instead, you must create a secure App Password.

MBefore creating an App Password, you need to enable 2-Factor Authentication on your Google account.

  1. Go to your Google Account settings
  2. Navigate to Security
  3. Find 2-Step Verification
  4. Click Get Started and follow the setup process

This adds an extra layer of protection to your account.

Once 2FA is enabled:

  1. Go back to the Security section of your Google Account
  2. Click App Passwords
  3. Select:
    • App: Mail
    • Device: Other (enter something like Monster Leaderboards)
  4. Click Generate
  5. Google will provide a 16-character App Password

👉 Copy this password — you’ll use it in the next step.

  1. Log in to your Monster Leaderboards account
  2. Go to Email Settings
  3. Select Google Workspace as your email provider
  4. Enter:
    • Your Gmail / Google Workspace email address
    • Your 16-character App Password
  5. Save your settings

Your account is now ready to send emails.

Security Best Practices

  • Never share your App Password publicly
  • Only generate App Passwords when needed
  • Revoke unused App Passwords in your Google account
  • Keep 2FA enabled at all times

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Double-check that 2FA is enabled (App Passwords won’t work without it)
  • Make sure you’re using the App Password, not your normal password
  • Remove spaces when copying the 16-character code
